We are expecting a few days of brutal, brutal cold, and that may bring more immediate deep soil freezing problems.

Tombstone - I read many blogs this year where folks were lamenting the price of hay, if this Winter continues to have little to no precipitation there could be big trouble brewing.

Homeschool - I haven't lived in Minnesota for long but I can't imagine a drought in the land of 10,000 lakes! Last years snow was excessive, but it is a lot closer to normal than this years meager amounts.

Kim - Drought is a horrible thing, the helpless feeling that surrounds it is debilitating.

Ian - I will send the Commander out to do the snow dance, I hope the dogs don't bite him too hard.Chai Chaihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05845100961653150736noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1353764878995672966.post-86414803823691358342012-01-11T17:36:12.939-08:002012-01-11T17:36:12.939-08:00You betcha I am! Time to get out and do a couple of snow dances...slightly different from the typical happy dance. :-}IanHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15874490886311041312noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1353764878995672966.post-63418593511864153542012-01-11T16:21:25.625-08:002012-01-11T16:21:25.625-08:00Wow, that's a big difference. Last year my pastures were flooded, there was so much rain plus snow in the Sierras the river near here was over it's banks in some areas. By now my pasture grass should be close to a foot tall, all I have right now is bone dry dirt. And, the price of hay is $17 - $20 a bale. Won't be a good year unless we get some rain soon.Tombstone Livestockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07022776395762826903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1353764878995672966.post-29746280198690295722012-01-11T14:59:02.496-08:002012-01-11T14:59:02.496-08:00We have had plenty of rain instead of snow,so not ...We have had plenty of rain instead of snow,so not to much worry on a drought.
Hoping you get some precipitation to increase your water table.farmerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12067581296027303664noreply@blogger.com
