The Barn is Fine

The goats don't go outside much now that there is snow on the ground. I really like how shaggy their fur has gotten, isn't Becca Boo cute?

When I opened the door the other day the goats took off like they were on a mission.

It was strange because they ignored the snow even though at times it was up to their bellies. I was curious as to what they were up to, and it soon became obvious.

They wanted into the garage! They could have wanted the grain that was stored in there but I think they wanted in the garage because they think it may be warmer. "I'm not letting you in, the barn is fine!"

  1. Every animal I own is enamored of my garage - even the horses would prefer to hang out there, given the chance. When we used to let Ohia out in the front yard to graze, he would squeeze in next to the cars...."I'll just park myself here, thank you."

  4. Nancy, They are always trying to get into the garage and I have no idea why.

Frugalmom, I love how they look in their shaggy winter coats. If they didn't get so hot I would let them keep their coats year round.

NWF, Fresh driven snow if a magnificent sight in the sunshine. I love it too, although, the -20 windchill takes some of the fun out of it......

  7. What good looking goats. I follow a few blogs that feature their goats. They are always comical and leave me wishing I had a couple for pets.

  8. Awww...what a sweetie pie your Becca Boo is!
I've really noticed how shaggy Pete & Reggie have gotten and their faces are thicker than usual - it makes me laugh to see them this way.
I wish you lived closer - Pete & Reggie would love a play date. lol :-)

  9. FBKW, I never would have thought goats would bring me such joy, now I can't imagine living without them. If you haven't followed the adventures of Pete and Reggie over at Critter Farm then I highly recommend it.

Farmgirl, I like the full face look on the goats, makes them look regal. A play date would be hilarious, but Chip might get jealous of your boys chasing after his girls.

  10. Look at her little pink nose and the checkerboard black lips. So cute!

We had goat kids that would stand on their hind legs and beat on the front door with their hooves. When they did not get inside the house, they'd run down the stairs, around the house, up the back porch steps and try their luck there for a few minutes. When that didn't work, they'd go right back to the front again. This could go on for 30 minutes. Very persistent. And very cute.

  12. Yes, these definitely were. I was raising pygmies as pets for people, so we bottle fed the babies.

Drop dead cute, bottle feeding 8 inch high goats. LOL
