Oh NO!!!!

Do you see those fallen leaves?  Oh NO!  If the leaves are falling then Winter can't be far behind.  I took the goats over to see the fallen leaves and they ate them like potato chips, they must be like Lays becasue they couldn't eat just one.  Saves us from some raking at least.

  3. That's funny because that's what I often think when I watch the goats eat the freshly fallen leaves here - like lays! lol. They love this time of year for the fresh leaves every morning. But you are right, after fall, comes the dreaded winter. It always comes fast too. Are you ready? Us? Not even close. We need to start hauling in trees to split this week.

  4. Have you ever read the book "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs"? (Not the movie, the book please!) It has been like that for old Bill... and your goats, too!

  5. Ah ha ha!! I know this SO well - our huge maple tree leaves are falling to the ground and the goats gobble them up like they were the tastiest treat in the world.
We liken them to chips, too! How funny :-)

  8. Carolyn - They sound like crunching chips too!

Millie - We are forecast to get down to 31* Wednesday night - brrr....

Autumn - I have not seen either, I will have to look it up.

Danni - The Commander has a mountain of wood laying out in the woods, I'll have to give him a subtle reminder to get it mave and chopped!

Rae - Once we get the wood split and stored we will be ready. There is over 120 bales of hay already put up in the lofts.

Rain - I love Fall too, I just wish it lasted longer!

  9. I'm so glad it's fall! We've finally dropped into the high 90s here, 60s at night. For us? Cool temps. Love it.

If only you sent the goats my way so I don't have to rake...

  10. ADoC - Fall is wonderful, I just worry how long it will last. We have freeze warnings for the next several days, not good.

  11. Yes, winter is just around the corner, I'm afraid. Especially for you! I dread winter, it makes life so much harder. It's tougher on us humans, and on the animals, too. Hmmm, I love the fact that goats chomp down on fallen leaves. I want a goat now! Maybe I can borrow one??? :)

  12. Lynn - If you got a goat you would love it, although it may cut down on your travel plans.
