What was the Groundhog Thinking!

The mid-west got pounded by another snowstorm this past weekend. As I look out my window the snow is coming sideways and the wind is HOWLING at 25-30 knots. Minneapolis just set a record for the 2nd highest snowfall in a Winter, and we still have a ways to go. Chip came outside for a bit to peek about and didn't like what he saw.

Gidget is ready for more Winter, she is currently sporting her new purple/turquoise sweater. Goat fashions, who can keep up?

*****Update*****
A few folks have inquired in the comments section on how Addison was feeling so here is a quick update. Addison was back to eating grain this morning and picking at her hay. When Addison doesn't feel well she prefers to eat a really course hay, almost straw like, I guess it is her comfort food. We have some stored in the sheep barn for just such emergencies and after a short wait Addy was munching away happily.

  2. hehehehe...I love the goat sweaters...I giggle every time I see one :)
I know what you mean about the weather..I think the groundhog was under the influence of some weird weed. ahem.
    How is Addison feeling?

  3. Wow--we aren’t getting snow right now but I don’t think it’s over for us by any stretch. Gidget is absolutely adorable!!! She is very stylish and my favorite color is pink so I definitely love her sweater. They are both precious :)

  4. Wow - Gidget is truly a beauty with that purple number. It really brings out the color in her eyes. All your goats will be clamoring for one, soon. I best not show Pete and Reggie, thoguh - I'm not sure purple will give them the "tough guy" look they seem to appreciate.
I'm so sorry about your new snow... our forecasters are saying we may get quite the storm here starting on Wednesday. They say we might get an inch to an inch and a half of snow.
    :-)

  7. BMKW - She is much better but it is too windy to go outside. A little sun would do her a world of good.

Stace - I agree about the groundhog being under the influence, I think he is reading Al Gores book instead of the Farmers Almanac.

Verde - Gidget is still undersized so I want to make sure she stays warm. She only has a few weeks left of being the baby.

Farmgirl - It must be tough searching for all that snow lost in the six inches of lush green grass. Tell Pete and Reggie that real men aren't afraid to wear pink (Navy personnel excluded of course).

Michaele - Thank you very much for stopping by and commenting, hope to see you again!

OFG - What we really need is a day of hard rain to melt the two feet of snow covering the grass outside. I fear that all the snow this Winter may lead to flooding this Spring. Gidget is an extra small, but maybe Nibbles could wear the sweater as a scarf?

  8. Thank you Farmgirl, I wonder if this cryogenic like cold slows down the aging process?

  9. That purple sweater is just too funny. I LOVE it.

BTW, the key to friendly sheep is animal crackers. Seriously, animal crackers and lots of patience.

  10. Christine - I am going to give the animal crackers a try, thanks for the tip!

  11. Absolutely it does! Especially if you sit on it on a wooden spool. :-)

  12. Any udder development starting on Addison & Becca yet?

  13. Farmgirl - I laying out our bedding on the spool as we speak!

Karen - The Commander thinks that Becca is showing some but I'm not sure. Addy isn't really developing but she is absolutely pregnant.

  14. You should feel their (Becca & Addison) udders--you might be able to feel them filling up or getting a mooshy feeling at least.

  15. Sorry to hear about Addison not feeling well, but am glad she is feeling better now! I'm sure the weather has been hard on them. Love Gidget's sweater, such a fashionista :)
