The Duck Hut is finished and the ducks no longer spend their nights in the garage. They now spend their days in the chicken coop and move to their hut in the sheep pen in the evening.
The hut was built from scraps left over from the blue barn and from a pallet that the snow blower arrived on. The ducks have a screen for ventilation and locks to keep the predators out. The sand floor is covered with hay recycled from the goat barn, the sand should allow for good drainage. I am really proud of this hut as I built and designed it myself.
Notes: The sheep poo is firming up so it looks like everyone will survive. The Pepto and Probiotics did the trick. If they keep improving then the boys will move to the front pasture this weekend.
The Commander saw a wolf today (in broad daylight) on his way to work, not good. We saw two wild dogs on our road on the way to church Sunday and almost hit one when it darted in front of the car, not good.
Glad to see you have shelters being built. Not so happy to hear about wolves and dogs. Take care.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am pleased as all get out to hear the sheep are getting better. Rooting for 'em!
