Silent Night

Winter storm watch tonight, 5-9" of snow expected.

The snow was so heavy that the netting over the chicken coop tore away, so with complete freedom available the guineas chose to sleep outside for the night.

The snow is wet and heavy and is sticking to everything, it is so beautiful outside.

  1. No wonder you were laughing at me - beautiful, but I feel cold just looking at it! I would like to see snow, though. We get some at the top of Mauna Kea some winters, but the altitude gets to me, and I can never enjoy it.

I don't think I mentioned, but Sara, Goat Herding Machine, looks a lot like my Melly.

  2. I hope you don't get as much as predicted, wet heavy snow can do some damage to the trees.. but yes it is beautiful. For some reason we missed it this time, this system moved south of us, I am grateful

I bet you are cozy in the house with a fire. :o)

  4. Nancy, I wasn't laughing at you. Border Collies are the best!

Carla, We had some broken limbs this morning - I wish the snow had missed us too.

Faith, I am reading your comments right now tucked in by a warm and cozy fire.

  5. Wow, now that is an impressive early snowfall. We had perhaps a cm or two and nightly frosts but so far we're still lucky the goats can pasture sans the white stuff :)

Great blog btw, if only there were enough hours...
